There are definite schools of thought when it comes to mixing gold and silver -- most of us know what we like when it comes to our jewelry, but what about in our homes? While I don't often use gold, I'ver really fallen for the antique brass look in lighting and furniture, especially pieces that have a mid-century modern influence. But I also gravitate toward gray and silver, so what to do? Here are a few ideas:
• Make a bold statement by using large areas of each color.
Here's a great example from DwellStudio.com
•Use different metals at different heights, for example, silver for furniture that is eye level or below (coffee tables, picture frames) and gold/brass for pendants,
These hand embroidered pillows by Judy Ross fit the bill!
So go ahead -- be fearless, ignore rules, and mix away!
